Crimson Moon Bosses: 6 Vessels, 3 Dead Gods & Drops

Data checked:

Vessels (6)

VesselDocumented dropsWho they are
The WardenBlasphemous Accord (weapon)A monstrous entity born from Felwyl's twisted experimentation upon the denizens of the Forsaken Streets. The Warden is a composite of mutated limbs grafted together from unwilling victims subjected to the mutagenic properties of the Hellgrowth.
Cardinal MathiasDefiled Night (weapon)The acting leader of the Archspire Chapter in the absence of Arch Bishop Dorian. Mathias became a pawn in Solomon's conspiracies, which rendered the Chapter weak in exchange for power he believed could save the Empire.
Tyrigon, Spawn of the Black AeonDragon Assassin Broadsword (weapon)A fledgling dragon compared to the High Dragons of old, Tyrigon is the faithful mount of the demon General Valahk-Nor. Tyrigon descends from the Black Aeon, a lineage of dragons once said to have ruled over humanity in a long-forgotten age.
General Valahk-NorGildenarch's Glory (weapon), Ram armor setA General of the Infernal Legion and bane of humanity. Valahk-Nor was Cain's second-in-command during the Rite of Desolation. After being felled by a young Gallant Alexander, his soul was banished before Cain resurrected him to redeem himself once more.
The Flesh-Wrought EgregoreAs Hellgrowth matures and terraforms the land, the souls trapped within its networks are rewritten to serve its expansion. The vestigial thoughtforms of the dead are warped by fear, confusion and hate and wrought into a violent and destructive monstrosity.
Felwyl the WitheredScirax (weapon), Telvaught armor setSolomon's accomplice in the takeover of Gildenarch, Felwyl is an occultist and lich who mastered the otherworldly nature of the Hellgrowth to achieve immortality. His ambitions extend beyond eternal existence and towards godhood.

Felwyl has two wiki entries as a drop source — The Withered (Scirax, Telvaught armor) and The Ascended (Cultravix) — so expect a second form. The Warden is explicitly tied to The Forsaken Streets, and Cardinal Mathias to Archspire Cathedral (his staff, Defiled Night, was carried "into the Archspire Cathedral on the night Solomon's vampires walked through the doors"). The wiki does not yet map the other Vessels to districts, so we do not either.

The Dead Gods (3)

Dead GodDocumented dropsWho they are
E'frae, The Dry Rot KingRotkin's Thorn (weapon), Pagan armor setIn an age long forgotten, E'frae was known as the Lord of the Wild and worshipped by the Saedrics of southern Velchoria. This magnificent stag of bark and amber blood has been warped by eras on the verge of death, trapped within an Abraxas Stone.
Mahkteah, The Lord of PerditionBurning Heart (weapon), Mahkten armor setBefore the Lunitarian faith, the ancient Mahkten war cult served the embodiment of war and perdition itself. Mahkteah was a god of creative destruction: the fire that burnt the forest to give birth to new life, only to snuff it out once again.
Aegoroth, The Eye of the AbyssPatron deity of the ancient Seekers, Aegoroth was the god of arcane, forbidden and hidden knowledge. He was the voice in the dark and the cold abyss itself, and could only be communed with through deep meditation. Where other gods remained tortured within the Abraxas Stones, Aegoroth's existence scarcely changed.

The Abraxas Stone achievements give the order: Rot first (5.4% of players one day after launch), War second (1.1%), Arcana third (0.5%). Only 5.6% had completed a full run at all — see achievements.

Regular enemy types (7)

EnemyTypeDescription
UndeadUndeadReanimated masses of flesh and bone created by the Hellgrowth. The Undead serve as the Hellgrowth's first line of defence, relying largely on infernal energy to create weak but numerous skeletons.
VampiresVampireDescendants of an ancient cult that venerated Dark Lord Cain. Various types of vampires and rival vampire clans can be found throughout Eden.
Feral VampiresVampireThe first stage of vampirism. Victims rapidly and violently transform, forcing them to mindlessly hunt for blood until they have consumed enough to transform into an ascended vampire. In Gildenarch, many Feral Vampires have fed upon the Hellgrowth, trapping them in a feral state and causing some to mutate into far more powerful forms.
Reborn CultistsHumanHumans who have consumed infernal flora as part of the ceremonial rituals of the Reborn Cult. The resulting mutations make them strong, immune to pain and capable of communicating telepathically with other cultists.
ImpDemonA winged demon capable of casting spells and manoeuvring through the air. Imps are weaker than many other demons but remain strong enough to tear humans apart, with their trickery and guile making them particularly dangerous in groups.
Death KnightDemonThe foot soldiers of the Infernal Legion. Death Knights are intelligent, agile and possess fierce strength and endurance. During Cain's Rite of Desolation, armies of Death Knights marched upon Eden, with the Nephilim eventually proving capable of matching them in battle.
Demon BruteDemonA massive demon possessing little intelligence but incredible strength. Demon Brutes are bred for the sole purpose of destroying the walls of kingdoms and crushing siege engines.

Enemy variants layer on top of these as you level: Fire at 2, Poison at 5, Marking at 7, Bleed at 9, Ice at 11 (level unlocks). Elite enemies are the ones you can execute once staggered, which is one of the two ways to charge Angel Ascension.

Boss questions

How many bosses are in Crimson Moon?

The developer wiki documents 9: 6 Vessels (district bosses) and 3 Dead Gods bound to the Abraxas Stones. Each mission also ends in a "final encounter", and the wiki notes elites and mini-bosses inside districts, so the count of distinct fights is higher than nine.

What is the first boss in Crimson Moon?

The Prologue mission has its own boss fight (Steam reviews mention a tutorial boss), and the first district, The Forsaken Streets, is the home of The Warden — "born from Felwyl's twisted experimentation upon the denizens of the Forsaken Streets". Only 49.2% of players had cleared that district one day after launch.

Who are the Dead Gods?

E'frae, The Dry Rot King; Mahkteah, The Lord of Perdition; and Aegoroth, The Eye of the Abyss. Their remnant souls are bound to the three Abraxas Stones — of Rot, War and Arcana — which are the main quest's objectives.
