What the Deluxe items actually are

  • Axe of the Gods. A one-handed axe carrying the Empower Weapon Art (“increases your Defenses and Damage of all types”), listed on the developer wiki with source “Deluxe Edition”. Its description calls it “forged from the heaviest of metals” — the wiki’s icon file name suggests it is shaped like a guitar, which fits the score’s metal half. It is the only self-buff Art on a one-hander; see the Weapon Arts page.
  • Ceremonial Armor Set. Named in the editions post. The wiki’s armor table lists a Keeper’s Oath set with source “Deluxe Edition” — a Crimson Oath variant “bestowed upon Nephilim who take The Keeper’s Oath” — and no set called Ceremonial. We list both names; they are very likely the same item under a marketing name and an in-game name, but that is our inference.
  • Post-launch expansion. Announced as included; no name, date or content has been given. The Steam forum thread “Post-launch Expansion (deluxe edition)?” has no developer reply as of 2 September 2026.

Deluxe items are delivered through the Redeem Code route — see codes and FirstLook.

Is it free? Is there a demo?

No and no. Crimson Moon is a paid release on every platform. There is no Steam demo, no open beta and no free weekend as of launch; the pre-launch FirstLook programme gave away armor sets, not the game.

Is it worth $20?

We do not score games we cannot test hands-on, so here is what other people’s numbers say as of 2 September 2026:

  • Steam: 1,357 reviews, 777 positive, 580 negative — 57% positive, “Mixed”.
  • Metacritic: 73 from 5 critic reviews.
  • CGMagazine: 8/10 in a review published on launch day.

The negative reviews are overwhelmingly about the PC port rather than the game: no key rebinding, no mouse sensitivity, no FOV slider, ultrawide cropping, camera swing on lock-on, and a data-collection clause in the account terms. The positive ones praise the combat rhythm on a controller, the armor design and the run structure. ProbablyMonsters promised keybinding “this week” on launch day. Full breakdown on the review page.

The practical read: on a controller, most of the loudest complaints do not apply; on mouse and keyboard, the missing rebinding is real until the patch lands.

Regional pricing and platform stores

Steam applies regional pricing (the appdetails feed returns a US price in USD; other regions differ). The game is also sold on the Epic Games Store, the PlayStation Store and the Xbox Store — see the platforms page for what is and is not confirmed about Game Pass, GeForce Now and Switch 2.
